When Dr. Vishal Sharma completed his training at SUNY-Buffalo in 2006 and moved to the South Towns, he had a clear vision: to build a world-class eye care practice right here in the community he called home. Nearly two decades later, that vision has become a reality. Lakeshore Eyecare serves patients from all over the region, offering a level of expertise and technology that most people wouldn't expect to find outside of a major medical center.
Dr. Sharma is a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, and he has been named to America's Top Ophthalmologists. He has been a pioneer in bringing advanced treatments to the South Towns, including LASIK, premium lens implants, astigmatism correction, and laser-assisted eyelid surgery. Lakeshore Eyecare serves as a beta site for Alcon Surgical, which means Dr. Sharma and his team are among the first in the country to gain access to new technologies before they're widely available elsewhere. From the Voyager Laser to the digital microscopic marker to the Argos vision system, the tools at Lakeshore Eyecare represent the cutting edge of what modern ophthalmology has to offer.
